Formats for presentations
PAPERS
Paper presentations last 15 – 20 minutes, plus some time for questions. They will be scheduled in 90-minute sessions which will generally include three papers on similar themes, in exceptional cases, four papers may be combined. A paper is submitted by one author plus up to 5 co-authors; 1 of the six authors can be listed as presenting authors. HEC will nominate a chairperson for each session who will take care of time and manage the discussion. Please plan your presentation in a way to allow some questions within your presentation time. Paper proposals need a title (max 20 words), an abstract (max 150 words), a theoretical framework (max 600 words), methods (max 400 words), (expected) findings and conclusion (max 300 words), and 3 to 5 keywords used for grouping papers into sessions.
SYMPOSIA
Symposia consist of 90 minutes conference sessions organised by the submitters. Symposia present research on one topic or theme, providing a coherent set of papers for discussion. Symposia proposals that include more than one level of research (so more than one of learning, teaching, organising) are preferred, others can be accepted as well. Symposia sessions consist of 3 (max 4) oral presentations and a discussant. A chairperson directs symposia. Please note that presenters, chairperson and discussant need to be provided by the submitters. Moreover, each of these participants must register individually.
The symposium needs to be handed in as one submission with a title (max 20 words), an abstract of the symposium (up to 400 words) and abstracts for all papers linked to it (up to 150 word abstract per paper), and a chairperson and a discussant need to be listed. You will also be asked to state 3 - 5 keywords and list presenting authors and co-authors with email addresses and affiliations. The proposer is responsible for communicating with all contributors and with the HEC Office about the proposal. Four weeks before the conference the proposer also needs to provide the discussant with a full set of (short) papers within the symposium.
POSTERS
Posters are graphical presentations which will be displayed during the Poster Session. A Poster is submitted by one author plus up to 5 co-authors. Presenters will be asked to be available at the Poster session to answer questions from other conference delegates. Posters should be prepared for the Conference in A0 portrait (upright). Poster proposals need a title (max 20 words), an abstract (max 150 words) a theoretical framework (max 600 words), methods (max 400 words), (expected) findings and conclusion (max 300 words), and 3 to 5 keywords
