The development of machines that can learn, reason and act intelligently – Artificial Intelligence (AI) – is advancing rapidly. In some fields, machine intelligence already surpassed the limits of what the brightest human minds are capable of achieving. In others, machines still struggle with seemingly basic tasks. Nonetheless, breakthroughs in AI already have profound impact on society. AI is set to improve our world now and will continue to do so in the future. At the same time, there is the fear of losing control. Who is behind these systems and how do they work? In this lecture series we look at the applications, developments and possibilities of AI, but also at the ethics surrounding the technology. Prior knowledge of AI is not required: your human intelligence will help you navigate these lectures just fine.
