Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at European politics with Member of European Parliament Reinier van Lanschot of Volt Europa, on Wednesday 27 august 2025 from 16.00-17.30 at the Gourvernement aan de Maas. 
Discover how a citizen-led movement found its voice in Brussels and hear first hand how the Netherlands is shaping the EU’s future in times of uncertainty. From defending democracy and digital rights to responding to geopolitical challenges such as the war in Ukraine. This is your chance to understand the EU from the inside.
 
About the speaker:
Reinier van Lanschot is a member of the European Parliament for Volt and co-founder of Volt Netherlands, working on EU reform, defence, and democratic innovation.
 
About the moderator:
Esther Versluis is Professor of European Regulatory Governance at Maastricht University. She is an expert in EU policy implementation and crisis regulation.
 
The event will be opened with a word of welcome by Elianne Demollin-Schneiders, regional minister of the Province of Limburg and followed by a dynamic conversation and audience Q&A.
