About the symposium

On 23 May, Jeroen Rijpkema will step down as CEO of Triodos Bank. To mark this occasion, we are pleased to invite you on Thursday 19 June to a special symposium titled The power of connection: Support for a new economy. 

 

This topic is close to Jeroen's heart. Throughout his career, he has championed social inclusion, always emphasising that a sustainable and just economy requires broad social support. This symposium will explore the pivotal role of social inclusion and collective action in shaping a future economy that works for all. 

It will take place between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM, featuring contributions from speakers and panelists including:

• Anoek Nuyens, writer and theatre maker

• Bernard ter Haar, former senior civil servant, publicist, and board member

• Hans Stegeman, Chief Economist at Triodos Bank

• Maartje Bregman, climate optimist and entrepreneur

• Werner Schouten, Director of the Impact Economy Foundation

• Jessica den Outer, Director of Rights for Nature

They will engage in a dialogue with you on the central question: how can broad public support become the driving force behind the societal transition?

 

Following the symposium, there will be an informal reception, where you will have the opportunity for a personal goodbye to Jeroen.
