Accommodation

Many hotels are located on the Avenue Louise, within either walking distance or short tram ride.

For larger groups, the Aparthotel Adagio Access Brussels is located within walking distance of the conference location.

Coming by train

International trains usually stop at Brussels south. From there, two main options:

1) take any (non international) train going east and stop at Brussels central station; then take bus 71 and step out at bus stop "Buyl"; then walk your way down to the conference location

2) take metro line 6 or 2 and step out at "Louise", then take tram 8 or 93 and stop at "cambre étoile"; then walk your way up to the conference location

Coming by car and parking

Do know that Brussels is a low emission zone (LEZ) and often suffers from bad traffic (top 10 for decades).

The main university parking is accessible upon request (entrance at avenue Buyl "accès 1" or entrance avenue Roosevelt "accès 11")

WARNING: the parking closes at 21:30 until 7 and there is no guarantee free spots are available in it.

If you want being able to enter the parking, send an email containing the following informations: your name; licence plate, and cell phone number. By the 19 November, you'll receive an authorisation that you'll have to print and display on your dashboard.

Street parking is also possible (free between 6pm and 9am)

PRM

People with reduced mobility can reach the conference room via an elevator in the S building.

Saint-Verhaegen

It turns out the first day of the conference coincides with the day of the university (Saint Verhaegen). One consequence is that happy students will celebrate by drinking too much beer in two specific parts of the city. One part will be close to “place du Sablon”, “Mannekenpis”, “palais de justice” and “Bourse” from 4pm to 7pm and later close to the “ULB/VUB plaine campus” after 9pm. So, if you intend any sightseeing, please account for this.

Sightseeing

Willing to enjoy the after conference and have a (extra) drink? The "Cim d'Ix" (aka Cimitière d'Ixelles or quartier de la petite Suisse) is 100s meters away from the conference and filled with restaurants and bars.

Willing to enjoy the city center? Take the direct bus Stib 71 towards De Brouckère.
