About the event​​

The "Water and Soil as Guiding Principles" (WBS) policy is crucial for a climate-resilient Netherlands, but its translation from ambition to practice is complex. Our research has analyzed this implementation, identifying four central propositions concerning finance, governance, law, and knowledge diffusion that define the trade-offs stakeholders must navigate.

This workshop provides a platform to validate these findings and chart a collaborative path to future improvements of the WBS principles and their implementation. The day is structured around collaborative roundtable sessions designed to interrogate our propositions against your on-the-ground experience.

We will synthesize these discussions to refine our shared understanding of practical WBS application and identify key implementation barriers and opportunities. This validation is a key step towards building a shared agenda for improving implementation and refining future policy recommendations
