Dutch Symposium on Gradient-Structured Electrolyzers and Fuel Cells: designed without boundaries
Pro2Tech and e-Refinery invite you to join the Dutch Symposium on Gradient-Structured Electrolyzers and Fuel Cells: designed without boundaries.
Date: Tuesday, 29 September 2026, Register at Symposium-29th,
Electrolyzers and fuel cells will define whether net-zero remains a slogan or becomes an industrial reality. The technologies we have today won't get us there: cost, durability, and efficiency are still constrained by something fundamental: the abrupt material interfaces inside every cell, and the losses they impose.
What if we removed those boundaries altogether?
That is the ambition behind this symposium. By moving to gradient-optimized architectures at the sub-100 nm scale, we open a genuinely new design space: cells with fewer losses, higher stability, lower cost, and - critically - a manufacturing route that can scale. Realizing this vision means rethinking materials, eliminating assembly bottlenecks, and building the automated production base to match. No single lab, company, or discipline can do that alone.
This is the first national meeting where we begin that work together - bringing component and equipment manufacturers, industrial end users, and researchers from across the relevant academic disciplines into one room. Expect a full-day program of expert lectures on advanced materials, transport phenomena, system performance, and cell assembly, paired with breakout sessions designed to turn discussion into direction.
What's in it for you
A state-of-the-art view across hydrogen, CO₂, and CO electrolysis and fuel cells - in one day, from the people setting the pace.
The right room. Network with leading academic and industrial experts, including our Van 't Hoff speaker Prof. Dr. Beatriz Roldán Cuenya (Fritz Haber Institute, Berlin).
A seat at the table. Shape the breakout discussions on re-design, scale-up, and automated manufacturing - your input feeds directly into the national agenda.
Consortium momentum. Help define the Dutch approach to next-generation electrolyzers and fuel cells, and the partnerships that will deliver it.
Register at Symposium-29th, and we hope you join us in Delft to help set the course. A detailed program will follow soon.
Side event - Van 't Hoff Lecture The evening before, on 28 September 2026, 17:30–20:00, Prof. Dr. Beatriz Roldán Cuenya will deliver the Van 't Hoff Lecture. Open to symposium attendees as an additional event —
separate registration required at: 't Hoff 2026 - 28th
With warm regards, on behalf of the Symposium Organization Team
