Join the table: Samen lunchen, delen en herdenken
Keti Koti betekent ‘verbroken ketenen’ en markeert op 1 juli de afschaffing van de slavernij in Suriname en de voormalige Nederlandse Antillen. Op 30 juni organiseert INCLUDED een Keti Koti herdenkingslunch op Kralingse Zoom en Museumpark. Sta samen stil bij de afschaffing van de slavernij en de betekenis van Keti Koti. Proef het traditionele gerecht heri heri, ontdek de verhalen achter dit historische gerecht en bezoek de mini-expositie.
Wil je de dag samen afsluiten?
In de avond bezoeken we samen met studenten de officiële Rotterdamse Keti Koti-herdenking bij het Slavernijmonument aan de Lloydskade. Een moment om samen te herdenken en stil te staan bij wat deze geschiedenis vandaag betekent. We verzamelen om 18:30 uur bij het STC-gebouw en lopen om 18:45 uur samen naar de herdenking.

Keti Koti means “broken chains” and marks the abolition of slavery in Suriname and the former Dutch Antilles on July 1. On June 30, INCLUDED is organizing a Keti Koti lunch at Kralingse Zoom and Museumpark. Reflect together on the meaning of Keti Koti, taste the traditional dish heri heri and discover the stories behind this historic meal during the mini exhibition.
Would you like to end the day together? In the evening, we will visit the official Rotterdam Keti Koti commemoration at the Slavery Monument at the Lloydskade together with students. A moment to reflect, remember and connect with one another. We gather at the STC building at 6:30 PM and walk together to the commemoration at 6:45 PM.
