CARB-HUB Final Event

Tuesday, 15 September 2026

Location: Keilezaal, Rotterdam

4-7 PM CARB-HUB Workshop + Networking Dinner (upon invitation)

CARB-HUB serious game is a role-play board game and design toolkit for carbon-conscious station-area redevelopment. Players take on stakeholder roles and negotiate spatial interventions for a station district, balancing carbon impact with attractiveness across Position, Place, People, and Physicality factors. The game turns abstract ambitions into concrete design choices and supports early-stage dialogue between designers, public authorities, infrastructure managers, and other stakeholders.

7.30 – 9.30 PM Carbon Stories (public session)

Designing according to Paris Proof principles can significantly reduce the CO₂ footprint of stations – with the greatest gains achieved in the early design phase. This has been demonstrated through research by design commissioned by Bureau Spoorbouwmeester and carried out in close collaboration with GROUPA. This research focused on gaining maximum understanding of the potential to bring the embodied carbon footprint (GWPa) of the station buildings within the Paris Proof boundaries set by the Dutch Green Building Council.

During this edition of Carbon Stories, different perspectives will be brought together and stakeholders will engage in dialogue about the next step: moving from Paris Proof stations to Paris Proof station districts.
