Ahead of the film screening, the Resilient Delta initiative will bring together a small group of researchers, policymakers and professionals for a deep dive symposium at Hotel New York. Invited guests will receive a personal invitation by email.

Building on the questions raised in The Price of Staying, we will take a closer look at how Rotterdam and the Dutch delta can prepare for growing climate risks, from flood protection and urban development to insurance and finance. The afternoon combines a panel conversation with a forward-looking commitment round, where we will share concrete next steps and invite guests to contribute their own ideas and commitments.

At 16:30, we will walk together to LantarenVenster for the premiere.

14:30–15:15 | Panel discussion: adapting to a changing delta

A conversation about the choices that growing climate risks ask of Rotterdam and the Dutch delta. What do increasing risks mean for the places where people live and for future urban development? And how do we deal with questions around protection, responsibility, insurance and finance?

15:15–15:30 | Coffee break

15:30–16:00 | Commitment round

A forward-looking session to share concrete next steps and invite ideas and commitments from everyone in the room.

16:00–16:30 | Late lunch

Time to continue the conversation over sandwiches and soup at Hotel New York's restaurant.

Premiere of The Price of Staying, followed by a Q&A with Siobhan Airey (Erasmus School of Law researcher and resident of Noordereiland), Ellen van Bodegom (Noordereiland resident and community organizer) and Darlene van der Zwan (creative producer of the film).
