Program sessions
13.00 - 14.30 hrs
Health Behaviors & Chronic Diseases
The program session will start with two separate meetings for junior researchers (parallel session 1, which will focus on networking) and medior researchers (parallel session 2), of which more details will follow soon. During the second part of the program session, there will be a plenary session with short presentations by the 2018 Travel Grant Award winners: Nicole den Braver, Nicole van den Bogerd and Monique Alblas. After that, dr. Trynke Hoekstra (VU) will give a presentation entitled: 'Old habits, new angles: Unravelling unobserved heterogeneity in lifestyle intervention effects'.
Mental Health
After a short introduction of our new Junior Council, dr. ir. Joanne Ujčič-Voortman (GGD Amsterdam, program manager Sarphati Amsterdam) will give a talk about The Sarphati Cohort: a unique dynamic cohort study in Amsterdam. After that, we will listen to several short presentations (pitches) by nominees for the Mental Health junior awards, which will be judged by a jury. We close with a speed-date session to meet & greet other APH Mental Health members.
Societal Participation & Health
In an interactive program session researchers Henk van der Molen (AMC) and Maaike Huysmans (VUmc) will give a taste of current studies on etiology and prevention of work-related dermal, musculoskeletal and distress/burn-out disorders. Together we will explore and discuss relevant research questions, possibilities to set up collaborating projects and possibilities for funding.
1. Data of reported diseases to NCvB and UWV
2. Work related dermal disorders
3. Screen work and upper extremity disorders
4. Psychosocial risk factors and distress/burn-out
5. Interactive session on possibilities for collaborating projects
Global Health
An open abstract session with short presentations (10 min.) by Global Health PhD-candidates and postdoc researchers will be held. There will be no thematic restrictions. A call for abstracts will be circulated among APH Global Health members.
Aging & Later Life
During the program session, we will introduce our recently installed Junior Council. The Junior Council will share with us who they are and the ideas they have for our research program. Furthermore, the travel grants will be awarded this afternoon and the winners will present their grant application. During the second part of our session, there will be separate meetings for junior researchers (parallel session 1) and senior researchers (parallel session 2), of which more details will follow soon.
Quality of Care
Connect for a golden ticket of 2,500 Euro! A frequently reported request of Quality of Care members is to get to know each other better and to have a new possibility to perform research together. During this program session, we will play a getting-to-know-your-research-and-skills game. The aim is to help Quality of Care researchers to collaborate with each other. The best proposal to boost Quality of Care collaborative research will be rewarded with a golden ticket of 2,500 Euro. Of course, the more people attending the session, the more fun and successful the game will be.
Personalized Medicine
The program session will have two parts. The first half will be devoted to the projects that have been subsidized within the research program. The results of the projects 'Epigenetics in Asthma: a role for Personalized Medicine' will be presented and 'ICT bases solutions to support informed decision-making about colorectal cancer screening for migrants' will be presented. The second half is an interactive program, facilitated by our Junior Council, which aims at getting to know each other(s projects) better. We will practice the use of elevator pitches as a mean to bring your own research to the attention of others, and to keep their attention.
Methodology
During the program session, we will present the newly installed Junior Council of the Methodology program. The Junior Council will organize an interactive Methodology program session during the APH Spring Meeting to get to know (more about) your colleagues in the Methodology program.
