Dear Colleague,

The BWI committed itself to establish strong, independent, autonomous, gender-fair and democratic trade unions in all countries. The BWI is also committed to a goal of gender-mainstreaming and establish women structures at the regional and global levels.  These goals were reaffirmed at the recent 4^th BWI World Congress, held in Durban, South Africa and reflected in the 2018-2021 BWI Strategic Plan Strategic Plan.  

The proposed BWI European Women’s Conference is aimed to further develop from the achievements of the 4^th BWI World Congress and to discuss and develop a four-year regional work plan to implement the 2018-2021 Strategic Plan, focusing on Convergence 4: Gender Equality.

The BWI European Women’s Conference will convene from 6-7 September 2018 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The conference will gather women trade union leaders, organizers, and activists, and young women throughout Europe.

In this regard, we are inviting your union to participate in this very important Conference.  The Conference will take place at Hotel Saraj, which is located at Nevjestina street nr. 5, Sarajevo, Bosna i Hercegovina.

The working languages will be S/C/B/M, English and Russian.  Simultaneous interpretation will be provided during the event.

The conference will start on 6 September (Wednesday) 2018 at 9:00 am and finish on 7 September (Friday) 2018 at 1:00 pm.  Participants are expected to arrive on 5 September (Tuesday) 2018 and leave at the conclusion of the meeting. Airport transfer from and to the Sarajevo airport to the hotel will be organized.
