THE BWI 2nd GLOBAL MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES CONFERENCE

27 MAY 2019, Monday

10:00  - 16:00

VICTORIA PARK PLAZA, LONDON

On behalf of the BWI World Board and World Council, we are writing to invite you to participate in the BWI 2nd Global Multinational Companies Conference that will be held in London, United Kingdom on Monday, May 27 from 10:00 to 16:00.

Since our first such conference, held in 2011 in Madrid, there have been significant changes in the sectors that BWI represents.  This conference, therefore, is very timely, particularly since, at the recent BWI World Congress, our delegates reaffirmed the importance of constructive engagement with multinational companies such as yours, to ensure the rights of workers in our sectors.

This conference will be an opportunity to highlight the global trends and changes within the BWI sectors in light of automation, technological changes and issues related to climate change, as well as changes in employment policies, labour practices and health and safety, noting the increase of subcontracting and outsourcing.

The conference will take place prior to our World Board and World Council, therefore during the conference, you will have an opportunity to discuss with our key political leadership.  More importantly, there will be a number of representatives of BWI affiliates present and thus, it would be an excellent platform for your company management to hear directly about issues at the national level.

Attached is the outline of the programme. On Monday the 27th in the afternoon, there will be parallel sessions for the three BWI sectors: construction, cement and wood. We propose to work with you on the detail of the session when you have confirmed your availability and interest in joining us.

We look forward to your participation.
