On Thursday 13th of January CIGRE Nederland will start with a digital mini symposium organized by the study committee CIGRE C0 about critical infrastructure and cybersecurity.
Traditional energy technologies are becoming progressively more connected to modern, digital technologies and networks. This digitalization creates significant risks as an increased exposure to cybersecurity attacks and incidents potentially jeopardize the security of energy supply. So, we need to further strengthen our energy system resilience to be more prepared for the future. Register here.
We start with a welcome of our moderator Ben Voorhorst, Dcypher and four keynote presentations about:
- What are the different views on the challenges regarding resilience of the future cyber-physical energy system? Siem Bruijns, TenneT
- What is the view of the academic world on resilience of the future cyber-physical energy system: what research is needed to provide solutions (think about digital twin, multi-sector modelling etc.). Peter Palensky, TU Delft
- What are the different views on the risk assessment and risk management approach for cybersecurity related to the development of the Network Code for cybersecurity on European, regional and entity level? Nuno Pereira, European Network for Cyber Security U.A. (ENCS)
- Bas Kruimer, DNV
Afterwards the study committees C1,2,5,6, D2 and Next Generation Network will join forces by exchanging views on possible solutions and discuss the next steps we should take to implement them.
