Working at the EU (Round 1 & 2)
If you are interested in a challenging career in an international environment, then the EU might be just for you! During this session you will be introduced to career opportunities at the EU level such as traineeships, contract agent positions, and 'the concours' - a competition which enables you to attain a permanent position at the EU institutions and agencies.
The session will be facilitated by Stefano Sarris, a current blue book trainee at DG CLIMA's international and inter-institutional relations unit of the European Commission, and Laurens van der Sluijs, EU Careers ambassador at Leiden University. They will talk about a vast array of career opportunities, the procedures of the application process, and tips and tricks which can be of added value throughout the EU career application and selection process.
Stefano and Laurens will share experiences from an EU policy perspective on common EU official tasks, and discuss how the EU operates between institutions with member states, and how it deals internationally in the context of climate change and the recent negotiations at the 2018 UNFCCC COP24 in Poland.
