Two Alumni talks: working at the Red Cross & independently as trainer (Round 1 & 2)
During this session, two Leiden alumni tell about their career path since graduation:
Dianne Keur works as Project Coordinator Support to Victims of Human Trafficking at the Netherlands Red Cross.
Human trafficking affects many men, women and children every year. The Netherlands Red Cross offers legal and practical assistance to victims of human trafficking during their complex residence procedures. As project coordinator, Dianne works together with lawyers and social workers, and supervises the Red Cross volunteers who provide direct support to victims. Dianne graduated from Leiden University College the Hague in 2013, with a combined major in International Development & Global Justice. She looks forward to share her work experience so far, and to learn more about your own background and future plans.
Phyleen Mattaar is Trainer personal leadership & talent development
During her studies, Phyleen gave workshops to lawyers and judges on how to talk to children during the divorce of their parents. After graduating from Leiden University College in 2013 she decided not to continue studying but to follow her new found dream: becoming a trainer. Phyleen talks to you about finding what makes you happy and making the tough choice to follow your dream when it's a different one that you started with. She talks about the beauty of her job and about the 3 ways in which her studies helped her become good at it but also the 3 ways in which it didn't ;-)
