Two Alumni talks: KLM and Shell (Round 1 & 2)
Bob Tulleken – Unit Manager Flow Control at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
Bob works for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, one of the biggest airlines in Europe. As Unit Manager Flow Control he is responsible for the department that does the planning and assignment of all ‘below the wing processes’ for KLM and customers. This means that his department makes sure that around 700 flights a day are cleaned, catered, fueled and loaded with baggage and cargo and are ready for their next flight. Bob has a master’s degree in Crisis and Security Management from Leiden University, and will tell you about his choices that eventually led to his current job at KLM.
Lisette de Heiden- Technical Sales Engineer Solar and Storage bij Shell
Lisette joined Shell in February 2016 after a long road with many different turns and twists in Leiden. Starting with Physics in 2009, she quickly changed her mind and started the Public Administration Bachelor in 2010 which she finished in 2013. In 2013 she started the MA programme in Military Strategic Studies at the Royal Military Academy and -longing back for the technical disciplines- she also started the MSc programme in Industrial Ecology in Delft and Leiden.
She worked for TNO Defence for a year after which she joined Shell in the newly founded 'New Energies' group, where they are contributing to the energy transition and where they have the ambition to become the world's largest renewable energy company. Come find out what it's like to apply and work for a big multinational in an ever-changing external context!
