We need your expertise! On the 6th of November 2019 the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment will hold an international expert meeting in The Hague:

‘Decent work for labour migrants'

Faced with aging populations, and shortages in the work force, labour migration is an increasingly important issue for many EU-member states. Especially the Netherlands are faced with a number of challenges, in relation to labour migration.

The Dutch government is convinced that a better labour market position of temporary workers can only be reached if all stakeholders (big contractors, temporary work agencies, municipalities and representatives of the workers themselves) cooperate in safeguarding better working and living conditions.

This meeting aims to bring together policy makers, representatives from the home countries, academia and stakeholders around the question: what more could we do?

The program consists of a plenary meeting and break-out sessions which aim to inspire you to come up with new ideas to improve the position of migrant workers. Over the course of the day we want to bring together the expertise of participants, to arrive at a new approach of the challenges we are facing. These ideas could also be incorporated in future actions on decent labour for labour migrants, which are currently prepared by the Dutch government.

Join us at this meeting by registering. The full programme, the various speakers and breakout sessions will be available at short notice. The location of the conference will be Madurodam in the Hague. Transport to the hotel from and to this location will be arranged.
