DRIVE stands for the first Design Research & Innovation Festival (DRIVE). This festival is a follow-up on previous CLICKNL Design activities such as DESIGN 8080 and various round-table meetings. It shows how research within the design sector tackles complex challenges and contributes to social innovations. And, at the same time, always with the objective of connecting knowledge and industry.

DRIVE brings together designers, scientists, businesses and government during the 2014 Dutch Design Week. The festival in the Natlab in Eindhoven provides a platform for Design Research & Innovation in the Netherlands. The programme is in English and participation is free.

The festival begins in the morning of Wednesday 22 October with a symposium on the theme of Business Innovation in the creative industries. In the afternoon, the Create Health, Create Energy, Smart Industry and Smart Culture platforms will present their plans for research and innovation.

On Thursday 23 October, the CRISP research programme will hold its seventh Design Review Session. The public afternoon programme offers keynotes and short lectures on product service systems in relation to well-being.

During the festival, DRIVE will provide VIP tours to the ‘Mind the Step’ exhibition in the Klokgebouw, where recent results of design, research and innovation within the themes of Make, Care, Live, Move, Sense and Learn are being exhibited.

With kind regards,

The organizers
