Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Week at IDE

5 - 9 October 2026

We warmly invite staff and students to take part in the annual Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Week at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering.

The Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering’s EDI Collective and EDI student team have organised five lunchtime events that celebrate the diversity of our community, encourage the sharing of perspectives and experiences, and foster meaningful conversations about inclusion, belonging, and equity.

Everyone is encouraged to take part, connect with colleagues and fellow students, and contribute to a stronger, more inclusive community.

We look forward to welcoming you during EDI Week.

Neurodiversity & Mental Health

How to stay sane in academia (by Igor Nikolic)

Date: Tuesday 6 October 2026

Time: 12:45-13:45

Location: IDE Arena

Deadlines, group work, endless meetings, notifications that never stop. Getting feedback that confuses you, body language that sometimes makes you uncertain, or having trouble finishing your tasks. Is good enough, or maybe it should be even better? Your brain is working overtime, but is it still working for you, or against you?

During this lecture, you might recognize more than you expect. You might finally understand yourself (or someone else) a little better. Neurodiversity is something many in our IDE community share, and understanding what it is, and how it affects a but better may help us all stay sane.

Igor Nikolic is associate professor at the faculty of TPM and section head.

* A sandwich lunch will be served.
