We need your expertise! On 25 and 26 October 2018 the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment will hold a conference in The Hague:

'The European Labour Authority: priorities for a successful and efficient agency'.

The proposal for an European Labour Authority is the next step in the fight against letterbox companies, unfair working conditions and equal pay for equal
at the same place throughout the European Union.

But how do we come from the paper reality of the proposed regulation towards a well-functioning authority which serves the interests of the European labour market?

The conference aims to provide officials of labour inspectorates and other enforcement officials, members and observers of the Platform against undeclared work, policy makers and experts from across the European Union a platform for discussion and exchange of best practices.

The conference will focus on the different tasks that the ELA-proposal encompasses and how current activities and best practices could provide examples for future cooperation under the ELA. It aims to provide key priorities for the future ELA and to reinforce the ability of officials to collaborate and act effectively.

The program will embody both plenary and break-out sessions which will inspire you to come to new solutions and partnerships. Over the course of two days we want to gather your expertise to come with new solutions that can be embodied in the future ELA.

These outcomes, in the form of a set of priorities, will be handed over to the European Commission at the end of the conference.
