Break-out 2:​ ​​Building  Data Stewards’ Expertise: Connecting Training and Practice to Drive Data into Action

• Well-trained data professionals are essential to make data available and reusable within the national infrastructure for secondary use. In this interactive session, we explore the evolving role of the data steward and highlight ongoing initiatives and activities to professionalise the role. We touch upon a new national curriculum, FAIR and data stewardship training, and practical resources (e.g. FAIR metroline and Tool Assembly). We will briefly introduce these developments and invite participants to actively share their needs and experiences—what works, what doesn’t, and where we can join forces to further strengthen data stewardship.
