Dr. Kelly Bronson is a Canada Research Chair (II) in Science & Society. She is a social scientist researching political and economic decision-making on controversial technologies like GMOs, big data and hydraulic fracturing. Her research aims to bring community values and environmental demands into conversation with technical knowledge in the production of evidence-based policy-making on technologies. She has published her work in regional (Journal of New Brunswick Studies), national (Canadian Journal of Communication) and international journals (Journal of Responsible Innovation, Big Data and Society). Her book The Promissory Futures of Big Agricultural Data, power and resistance in the digital agricultural revolution has appeared with McGill-Queen’s University Press in the fall of 2019. |
