Managing the entrepreneurial venture

Managing the entrepreneurial venture

Dear start-up company,

For the course “Managing the entrepreneurial venture” the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University is looking for start-up companies that are dealing with real-life marketing challenges and are interested in a team of (Master) students that will focus on tackling these challenges. For example by giving them the opportunity to write a marketing plan that includes recommendations how the company can increase sales.

The aim of the course is to have students write a marketing plan for a start-up company and gain some practical experience. Specifically, this means that 1) they analyze the marketing & sales approach of a start-up, 2) analyze strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threads of the company and 3) develop recommendations for a pre-specified marketing challenge. In previous courses we focused on questions such as ‘how can a start-up attract large customers or which different groups of customers should a company target?’

The course will take place from October 1st to October 23rd 2009.

If you are interested please fill out the application form (at www.aanmelder.nl/marketingplan) and specify your marketing challenge.

Afterwards;

  • We will select the start-ups that are most fitting for the project.

  • Students will then contact you on October 1st or October 2nd and make an appointment with you for the following week.

  • During the first meeting you can explain the context and the challenges you are facing.

  • In the following three weeks students will work on a marketing plan and recommendations.

  • On October 15th (13.00 – 15.45 hrs) students will present their work and on October 23rd they will submit their final marketing plan (six pages).

If you have any questions regarding the above information feel free to contact me.

Kind regards,

Hendrik Halbe
