Ahead of NATO summit

On June 24-25, The Hague will host NATO’s first summit in the Netherlands. Ahead of this historic event, the Clingendael Institute and Studio Europa Maastricht invite you to join a public discussion with leading experts on European security and transatlantic relations on June 5 at Sint Janskerk in Maastricht.

The upcoming NATO Summit takes place amidst some of the most pressing geopolitical and security challenges in recent memory. The ongoing war in Ukraine, tensions with Russia, and the rise of China pose a significant strain on the alliance. Meanwhile, Washington has made it clear: Europe must take more responsibility for its own security.

But what does this mean for the future of the transatlantic cooperation, which has been vital to peace and stability in Europe for decades? How can Europe strengthen its defence while preserving NATO unity? And how can this partnership evolve without losing its core principles of collective security?

The event will bring together defence experts, analysts and policymakers to reflect on the future of the transatlantic relationship at this pivotal moment.

Join us for this timely conversation, as we look ahead to The Hague summit and reflect on the legacy of D-Day. Register here to participate.
