Poldershop
Why
The Dutch National Ombudsman strongly believes in sharing the power of knowledge. Both on executive level as well as between staff members. Sharing knowledge (and experience) is one of the ways to strengthen our fundamentally important institutions.
How
Every participant will play an active role. The workshop will also be without a set agenda and certainly will not have any designated speakers. Based on the needs of the participants the issues and subjects will be discussed in an open format.
What
The National Ombudsman therefore introduces the concept of the Poldershop*. This type of meeting refers to the way Dutch people tend to ensure that diverse personalities with diverse backgrounds can talk to each other. The Dutch culture is very egalitarian and everybody is allowed to say what they want to say. Such horizontal discussions were needed in order to keep the water out of our country, this is why the concept is called a Poldershop.
- Everybody is equal
- Everybody may say what they want
- Everybody can safely express what they want
- Low cost
* Our budget is solely allocated to the organisation of the Poldershop itself, we will provide a beautiful location, lunch and drinks. However we do not support the hotel en flight costs of the participants. We hope you will understand.
