About the congress​

There is steadily growing interest in tailoring assessments and interventions to better match individual needs. Single case experimental design studies (SCED) and single case observational design studies (SCOD) are increasingly being used to answer these growing interests. This conference strives to bring together experts and novices in this growing field of research.

We aim to continue expanding awareness, knowledge, and expertise of this increasingly prominent research methodology. The Small is Beautiful symposia The international “Small is Beautiful” symposia are organised once every 2 or 3 years by SCD experts from different universities worldwide.

The “Small is Beautiful {4ever}” conference in 2027 will be the fourth in line and one of the themes of this conference will cover the question how to make the Small is Beautiful symposia sustainable {4ever}. This conference will be hosted and coordinated by the University Medical Center, Groningen, the Netherlands, supported by the Wenckebach Institute, University Medical Center Groningen, the Netherlands.
