Workshop by Gerard Bekker| SBE, room F1.17
Working on your goals in both your personal and professional life is a dynamic process of planning, creating and receiving. Being successful in reaching these goals requires both skills in effectiveness management as well as maintaining your own well-being. Balancing these pillars can be quite challenging sometimes, especially in a high demand environment. That's why we will explore this topic with the aim of gaining some insight in your own process and some skills in self-coaching to support you in reaching a balanced and successful life.
09:30 - 11.00 | Unfuck Yourself
Workshop by Bart Scholtissen, PhD | UCM, room D2.041
In this disbalanced, Western society, we have a risk of losing connection more and more without being aware of it. This decreases your focus, mindset, and, hence, also your study skills. So it's time for change!
It's time to wake up, reconnect and unfuck yourself. But how...?
The answer is perhaps more simple than you may think; by being more present and living in-the-now, we can create and live a more happy, healthy and strong life. Let's go on an energizing and calming 90 minute ride back to yourself, back to your nature!
In this workshop, you'll be challenged, gain insight into yourself and receive a hands-on experience on reconnecting with yourself.

How to make information technology work for you?
Lecture by Jaro Pichel| SSC, Karl Dittrich-zaal

We zoom into your use of the internet, social media and your smart phone, and how they influence your life for the better and worse. What would you love to keep and change? We invite you to reflect about how you connect to the outside: are you in touch with the real world, or could you be living in a filter bubble? Sharing tips and tricks, we will challenge you to a more mindful IT-use during your studies and beyond. You will leave this lecture with a concrete plan on how to achieve greater presence and purpose with your IT-use.

The art of effective learning strategies
Workshop by Sanne Schreurs|Randwyck, UNS50, K0.480 (Coen Hemker zaal)

In this workshop, extensively replicated research from educational psychology on effective learning strategies will be shared and applied to studying in a problem-based learning environment. Afterwards, time will be dedicated to learning how to apply these strategies in your own self-study.
