The Suicide prevention traning Gatekeeper of 113 Zelfmoordpreventie will train employees to:
- deal with signs of suicidality or a suspicion thereof
- conduct a conversation with concrete tools and without hesitation with students about desperation and a desire for death
- being able to ask questions in a responsible (and phased) manner and know what the limits are
- to when and how they can refer to professional help
The gatekeeper training programme consists of four parts and is a half-day session (i.e. four hours). In the four parts, we deal successively with attitude, knowledge, skills and referral in relation to suicidality.
The gatekeeper training is a skills training. We will work with personal examples from daily practice, exercises and group discussions.
The 113 Zelfmoordpreventie foundation is the national suicide prevention organisation. Our mission is a country in which nobody dies lonely and distraught by suicide. We are convinced that hundreds of suicides can be prevented each year if suicide is easier to discuss and healthcare is organised in a more innovative and humane way.
Trainers: Karen Keukelaar and Melanie van Hoeven.
