With our analysis tools trends are projected to develop national and regional traffic policies. Other software assists in handling road incidents, calamities and executing traffic management scenarios. Fleet Space Technologies is building the global digital nervous system to power the next industrial revolution. When launched, it will provide free, global connectivity to the more than 75 billion connected devices that will transform industries around the world by 2025. Fleet Space Technologies will launch the first of more than 100 planned nanosatellites in 2018, creating a global, free connectivity network that will plug directly into the millions of digital sensors already beginning to transform industries like agriculture, logistics, and mining and gas.

High Density Energy Storage (HDES), has been created to create, develop and market electrical and pneumatic high density energy storage technologies. The HDES initiative works closely together with technologies and research partners in the Netherlands and abroad to develop new products and applications.

A good example of our work is the cool gas generator, a technology, originating from TNO that produces pure gas at room temperature from a solid propellant charge. Therefore storage is without pressure. Applications include aircraft, satellites and life vest inflation. HDES is involved in tests of this technology on board of four different satellites.

Another example is an advanced energy storage system for which HDES is developing applications in the field of robotics HDES. HDES is now working on efficient energy storage for water drones and care robots.

IRM Systems is an Independent Pipeline Integrity Services & Management company providing specialist services and engineering throughout the entire lifetime of pipeline systems, onshore & offshore. The IRM Systems Group teams work from offices in Delft, Aberdeen, Houston and Kuala Lumpur and we aim to grow even further globally in the coming years.

Pipeline systems are present everywhere in the world although mostly invisible being buried or in sea. The total value of these systems is many billions of Euros and the total value of the products that these systems are designed for to conduct is even a multitude of this amount. Although transport through pipelines is relatively safe, the risk potential of conducting flammable substances through pipelines is high.

To keep a pipeline in a good and safe condition a Pipeline Integrity Strategy is defined in which plans are defined to perform and execute Inspection, Repair & Maintenance tasks. These tasks are based on specific degradation models and are traditionally time-based.

Despite all preparations, incidents can never really be 100% prevented. During the ‘Tour of Enterprises 2017’ visit to IRM Systems, students will be asked to develop a method for a permanent repair of a leaking gas pipeline. The situation is very complex and the stakes are high; this can only be solved through smart out of the box thinking and good teamwork.
