Young Molten Salt Reactor (YMSR) conference

Politecnico di Milano, Lecco campus, June 6 - June 8, 2022

The YMSR conference is organized by the SAMOSAFER project. SAMOSAFER is a European research project funded by the European Commission focusing on the development and demonstration of new safety barriers for more controlled behaviour of Molten Salt Reactors in severe accidents.

A "young" conference  is organized at the premises of Politecnico di Milano, in the city of Lecco - along the Como lake - in Italy from June 6th to June 8th 2022. The conference is tailored for PhD students, PostDocs and young researchers interested to present and discuss their research on MSR. During the conference, senior scientists from the SAMOSAFER project will provide feedback and transfer experience to the young people through special mentoring activities. In addition, students attending the SAMOSAFER online school will have the opportunity for presenting the capstone project assigned to them.

Topics of interest includes (but it is not limited to) neutronics, fuel cycle, thermal-hydraulics, multiphysics reactor and transient simulations, safety studies, operation and control, experimental facilities, ... related to Molten Salt Reactors. Young authors that want to present their work at the YMSR conference should submit a 500-words abstract no later than A̶p̶r̶i̶l̶ ̶3̶0̶t̶h̶,̶ ̶2̶0̶2̶2̶ May 14th, 2022. Contributors to the YMSR conference will be given the opportunity to submit a full-length paper for a special issue of the prestigious journal Nuclear Science and Engineering. All manuscripts submitted will undergo the regular journal peer-review process. Standard publication is free, open access publication is available for a fee.
