Supporting the elderly with developing digital skills - Welcome Online

Timeslot: various – to be determined by yourself, starting end of February

Location: on location at multiple nursing homes

Target group: elderly

Looking for: ambassadors who want to support the Community Engagement department with helping the elderly connecting to technology (Dutch speaking only!). Technology is getting more and more important in all our lives. However there are people who find it difficult to keep up the pace of these developments. We are going to participate in an existing project – Welkom Online (https://welkomonline.nl/) – for elderly people.

The project offers help in various ways: 1 on 1 guidance (usually 4-12 times) and 5 group lessons. You will be trained before you start. There are several requests from nursing homes in the region that want to start from February/March of on.

Looking for enthusiast ambassadors for CodeMasters

CodeMasters offers refugees the opportunity to learn how to code with Python and develop themselves to eventually find a job in the Netherlands. During the 10 week CodeMasters program, participants learn the basics of coding and develop a project of their own interest. CodeMasters is an initiative of Refugee Talent Hub, Accenture and ASML to contribute to the Brainport region.

For organizing CodeMasters we are looking for enthusiastic colleagues to take the role of:

Python instructor: Facilitating 2/3 coding sessions of 1.5 hour. Training material is already available.
Buddy: Supporting 1/2 participants during the program on for instance how it is like to interview/progress your career/network in the Netherlands or to share anything about our culture.

CodeMasters is in line with the ASML Volunteering policy, hence ASML employees are granted up to 8 hours to contribute to CodeMasters during office hours.
