Circular Harvest 2023

On 1 February 2023, we will hold the annual Circular Harvest event at BlueCity (010). The Circular Harvest is an afternoon full of inspiration about circularity, with well-known speakers, lecturers from our university of applied sciences, and especially our minor students who have been working on circular issues for the past six months.

This year's theme is: Talent for Circular Transitions

Keynote speakers Derk Loorbach, director of the Dutch Research Institute for Transitions and professor of socio-economic transitions at Erasmus University Rotterdam, and Jan Jonker, activist professor of sustainable business, will give their perspectives on transitions. The afternoon continues with discussions on transition-oriented topics like Social transitions (Kees Klomp), From waste to value: how digitalisation is transforming the circular economy (Ton van Kollenburg), Designing for circularity (Marcel den Hollander) and The role of finance for circularity (Koen Dittrich-Thompson & Maaike Lycklama à Nijeholt ).

We will also launch a new initiative during Circular Harvest, called GO HR. Through GO HR, students can collaborate on sustainability projects, brainstorm ideas for a more circular, sustainable university of applied sciences, and even put those ideas into practice.

Join the (green) movement of Hogeschool Rotterdam
There will also be a Circular Harvest exhibition, where approximately 100 fourth-year students will present their work on various transitional topics and answer questions from visitors.

Executive Board member Zakia Guernina will present awards for the best and most impactful solutions at the end of the exhibition.

We will end the afternoon with social drinks.
