TUESDAY 28 FEBRUARY, 20.00
Auditorium, Minderbroedersberg 4-6
Thijs Lijster, PhD
Assistant Professor of Philosophy of Art and Culture, writer
Commons are shared resources that anyone can make use of, without them being the exclusive property of anyone. They used to be shared forests or fields, but today we also consider knowledge, cities or data as commons. Neoliberal capitalism, however, threatens commons on all sides. In my lecture, I will show the importance of commons, and discuss how they can form the basis for alternative politics. Because without commons we have nothing in common.
