You are invited to an exchange session in the afternoon of Thursday 22 May at the TU Delft Teaching Lab, where we will explore practical and institutional implications of embedding Future Engineering Skills in education.

The session will be hosted by the IDEE Future Engineering Skills team, who are doing a five-year education innovation and research project on this topic.

This session is designed for experts like you — practitioners and changemakers working to integrate Future Education Skills into their teaching and institutional strategies.

Goal of the event

1. IDEE would like to gather feedback and align our framework with your practices and experiences

2. To share and learn from each other’s research, innovations, experiences of embedding Future Engineering Skills in Education.

Programme TU Delft IDEE Skills Day

13:00-13:30 Walk-in & Lunch

13:30-14:00 Introduction of initiatives working on Future Engineering Skills at TU Delft: IDEE, ENHANCE and Convergence

14:00-14:30 Framework discussion

14:30-14:45 Break

14:45-16:00 Parallel sharing sessions on

1. Practical level: teaching/course level

   How are you integrating these skills in your teaching? What decisions do you make on teaching / assignments / assessment / structure of your classroom based on these skills?

2. Institutional level

   How are you approaching institution wide implementation of certain competencies and skills? When do you think we succeed at FES framework implementation? How far to take it? How to make it coherent? What are the preconditions to implement fully?

After this event, the input we gather will influence the framework IDEE will use for research and innovation. We hope that sharing our experiences and practices will lead to a better collective understanding of how we can approach institution-wide implementation of future engineering skills. Moreover, we hope that connections will be made and that interuniversity collaboration can take place afterwards.
