Behind the Change: A Conversation on

Transforming Organisational Culture

10 June 2025 | 16:00 - 17:30 | Industrial Design Engineering - IDE Arena

Inspired by recent discussions at TU Delft, the Delft Female Impact Community (DFIC), in collaboration with faculty deans, launches the Leading Culture Change Series—live interviews with Delft alumni who have led their organisations toward becoming more diverse & inclusive through inspirational leadership. The series kicks off on 10 June, 16:00–17:30 in the IDE Arena, hosted by dean Caspar Chorus.

Femke Markus (DFIC) will interview Applied Physics alumna Debby Jannink, who, with 26 years in change management and leadership development, is now co-CEO of THNK, where she focuses on shaping the leaders we need for the world we want.

Following the interview, attendees will take part in an interactive exercise, followed by an open Q&A and discussion.

The event is open to all TU Delft staff interested in inspirational leadership and playing a role in creating a working environment in which everyone can flourish—regardless of their current position.

The speakers

Femke Markus is a strategic adviser and board member with over 20 years of experience driving sustainable growth, innovation, and impactful transitions across sectors. With a strong foundation in strategy consulting and executive leadership, she has helped scale ventures in healthcare, ESG, and in the impact space. Her career includes leadership roles at Elsevier, Spring Associates, and Holtara, where she grew the Amsterdam office from startup to scale-up. Femke currently advises C-level teams and serves on several boards, including the Regeneratieve Alliantie and Flouria Health. A passionate advocate for inclusive innovation, she co-founded the Delft Female Impact Community. Known for her energetic, connecting style and critical insight, she brings people together to create lasting, positive change.

Driven by the same curiosity about how the world works that led her to study Applied Physics at TU Delft, Debby Jannink built a career in change management, organisational culture, and leadership development. She spent 13 years as a consultant at Accenture, followed by 13 years leading PwC’s Change & Leadership practice. A key insight from her consulting work was the crucial role leaders play in shaping the world. Today, she is co-CEO and partner at THNK, where she is committed to developing the leaders we need for the world we want.

Beyond her professional work, Debby aims to contribute to a safer, kinder, and more inspiring world through various roles: she serves on the Advisory Board of Element15 (founded by a TU Delft engineer to bring clean drinking water to more people using technology and scalable business models), volunteers at the Voedselbank, sits on the Supervisory Board of Musis Stadstheater Arnhem, and is a proud member of the Delft Female Impact Community and Fund. Debby is known for her positivity, empathy, strong sense of connection, and drive.

About the DFIC

DFIC launched in October 2023, aims to raise awareness about inclusivity for female students and young alumni within the TU Delft ecosystem, empowering them to reach their full potential. Since its launch, DFIC has hosted three events with over 100 alumni attendees per event, grown its community to more than 230 members, and recently launched the Women-Only Online Career Café. Additionally, DFIC launched the Delft Female Impact Fund (DFIF) to financially support selected community initiatives. The first funded initiative took place over summer 2024; a qualitative research study titled ‘Entrepreneurship & Leadership by Women within the TUD ecosystem’. This broad range of activities and initiatives has contributed to a positive image of the DFIC founding team: independent, solution-oriented, and professional. This has led to various invitations of faculties and committees to discuss and brainstorm on the type of activities the TU Delft & DFIC can undertake to strengthen the TU Delft ecosystem on inclusivity & leadership.
