Sexual Safety Programme
A Maastricht University initiative that aims to create a safe environment for all, free from sexual violence.
Are you looking to address sexual safety within your student organisation? Our team is here to support you in developing awareness events, workshops, policies, support structures, or other initiatives tailored to your community. We offer advice and workshops in both Dutch and English.
Let’s work together to prevent sexual violence and promote sexual wellbeing.

Personal and Professional Development Portal
If you would like to dive into developing your personal and professional competencies and take have a look at the Personal and Professional Development Portal. You can see a diverse offer of (online) workshops, resources and modules. Additionally you can also find offer on there regarding your wellbeing and studying with a dissability. All of the offer is free and accessible to all UM students.
MoodLift
MoodLift is an national initiative aimed at improving students’ mental health. MoodLift offers an annual Mind Health Check that gives you an insight in your own mental health and you will receive a personalised advice. All year round you can follow one of the 12 e-health programmes guided by an online coach for free. From dealing with procrastination to working on your state of mind, there is always a topic that suits you!

Psychological Support
The UM psychologists can help you with psychological difficulties such as anxiety, feelings of guilt, gloominess, stress, lack of self-confidence and grief. They can also provide support if you are experiencing relationship problems with your family, friends or partner. They are not able to provide diagnostic services or long-term counselling.
If you're concerned about your mental health or wellbeing and not sure where to turn for help, our UM Psychologists can give you a Quick Psychological Referral (QPR). In a 10-minute session you can confidentially discuss your situation, get advice on what to do next and receive a recommendation for the right care within or outside UM. Following through on the psychologist’s advice is up to you.

Rutgers, the Dutch centre of expertise on sexuality, offers the Ben je Oké? campaign—an initiative that promotes positive bystander intervention by encouraging people to ask, "Are you okay?", and to engage in conversations about consent. Student organisations can download the campaign toolkit free of charge. Rutgers also offers workshops to support implementation. While the website is only available in Dutch, the campaign materials are offered in both Dutch and English and can be tailored to suit your organisation's house style.
