The Housing First Europe Hub’s partnership event, co-hosted by our colleagues at the Metropole de Lyon and Est-Metropole Habitat will provide an opportunity for all of Hub partners to meet and work together on 19-21 November 2025.  Building on our successful conference in Dublin last year, this event will focus on building and strengthening the partnerships necessary for a successful, systems-wide Housing First approach - particularly those with local authorities and housing providers.

The event will feature plenary sessions including:

  • Spotlight on the Metropole of Lyon’s work to take a Housing First approach across its systems - with insights from other cities including Rotterdam, Greenwich, etc.
  • Key advocacy opportunities - at local, national and European level - including the EU’s Affordable Housing Plan
  • Addressing the housing question - sharing experiences and working together on new ideas and solutions

Interactive workshops will provide everyone with ample opportunity to share challenges and successes.  We are counting on Hub partners to share their thoughts and suggestions - a preliminary list of possible topics includes:

  • Housing First for Youth - building on evidence and working across different sectors, from child protection to education to employment;
  • Housing First in new places - Malta, Greece, Croatia, Hungary - lessons for new partners
  • National Housing First coordination - how to ensure this is effective and sufficiently funded and supported
  • Housing and Housing First - working with housing providers, considering housing financing options, sharing experiences and working towards suggestions and recommendations
  • Research - reflections on recent research and discussion on research funding opportunities in 2026
  • Responding to anti-Housing First rhetoric - sharing experiences and building shared responses in difficult political times

Housing First Europe Hub partners are invited to share their comments and suggestions on the list of workshop topics; a final list of workshops will be announced in October.
