Winds4Change seminar | November 4th 2025

Wind Assisted Propulsion System (WAPS) technologies are getting more and more attention in the shipping industry, being one of the few readily available and scalable technologies to decarbonise shipping operations. However, decision makers are hesitant to fully embrace the potential of using the natural forces of the wind in their operations. Reasons for this is the lack of reliable data on its savings potential as well as issues with integration of the technology with conventional ship propulsion. Winds4Change aims to accelerate the use of wind propulsion in the Netherlands with innovations such as rotor sails, rigid wing sails and suction sails. Winds4Change not only looks at technological innovations, but also at market opportunities and policy developments.

This seminar at Europort seeks to be the 'blue glue’ between sustainable innovation and economic growth, bringing together stakeholders from across the maritime ecosystem in The Netherlands and abroad.

This seminar is free to attend for Europort visitors, subscription is mandatory and comes with a no show fee of EUR 100,-.
