1st International Conference on Emerging Research at the Crossroads of

Design, Biology, Computation, and Sustainability

26-Aug-2026 - 28-Aug-2026 | Delft, the Netherlands

About the event

We invite biodesign researchers across Design, Architecture, and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) to register to Biodesign’ 26, the inaugural international conference exploring groundbreaking advances at the intersection of biology, computation, design, and sustainability. This unique forum seeks to showcase interdisciplinary research, novel theory and methodologies, and forward-thinking research artifacts that push the boundaries of design.

Biodesign’ 26 is structured as a two-day conference, complemented by hands-on workshops and a curated excursion that extends learning beyond the conference venue.

  • 2 Conference Days focus on panel discussions, paper parallel sessions, and an exhibition.

  • 1 final day with workshops and excursion offering in-depth, practice-oriented sessions led by experts. Excursion activities provide an opportunity to engage with local contexts, labs, or sites relevant to biodesign.

Your conference registration grants full access to:

  • Parallel paper sessions featuring peer-reviewed research

  • Panel sessions with leading international scholars and practitioners

  • Open and closing ceremony

  • Exhibition of demos and research artifacts, showcasing experimental projects and prototypes

  • Networking opportunities with an international, interdisciplinary community

  • Social events and conference dinner

  • Workshops and excursion participation (subject to capacity and registration type - additional fee).

We look forward to welcoming you to an inspiring and forward-thinking conference experience.
