7th HRSMC/EPA Summer School on Photochemistry

June 29 to July 2, 2026

Fletcher Kloosterhotel Willibrordhaeghe Deurne

Every four years the Holland Research School of Molecular Chemistry (HRSMC) organises a summer school, where PhD students and other researchers are trained by top scientists in the area of photochemistry.

Welcome

This HRSMC/EPA Summer School on Photochemistry is the seventh in a successful series organized by the Holland Research School of Molecular Chemistry (HRSMC), a cooperation between the Chemistry Departments of the University of Amsterdam, Leiden University, VU Amsterdam and Radboud University, under the auspices of the European Photochemistry Association (EPA). The school is intended for PhD students, postdocs, and interested scientists active in the field of photochemistry, and for those who make use of photochemical or photophysical methods in their research.

The school will cover essential topics in photochemistry, including topics on experimental and computational approaches to understanding optical and dynamical properties of materials for optoelectronics, artificial photosynthesis, biomolecular systems, and multi-spin systems.

In the tradition of the school, in addition to the exciting topics by 5 world-renowned lecturers, the participants will also present their own research in poster sessions. The HRSMC will select two of the submitted abstracts to be presented as short talks. During and between the sessions, the participants will interact and network with each other and with the invited experts. It is our experience that this form of interaction usually leads to new scientific and personal bonds.
