Challenge Arena
organised by: Inclusive Education Community
28-May-2026 | Teaching Lab
Inclusive Education is not just a moral imperative, but a powerful driver of social and academic success. It fosters a culture of belonging, promotes diversity of thought, and ensures that every learner has the opportunity to thrive. By embracing inclusive practices, we create environments where students and staff feel valued and empowered to reach their full potential.
The Inclusive Education Community is happy to invite you to their third interactive session! This edition will consist of two parts, the challenge arena and network & drinks.
Session part 1: Challenge Arena
In this activity we will explore 3 different challenges. Aim is to collaborate and find tangible solutions for current challenges in Education. And to share inspiring practices across university and build on them. We will start with a plenary introduction of the three challenges. Then, in a world cafe set-up you will join the first table of your choice. We rotate tables every 20 minutes. This gives you the opportunity to discuss and contribute to all three of the challenges and in the different rounds, build on the contributions of others. We will close this part with a plenary overview of the results.
Challenges
Attendance: How to increase your class attendance & how to cocreate the sense of belonging - presented by SPICE
Groups: Effective teamwork in project courses and beyond – how to make inclusive and well-functioning groups - presented by Aerospace Faculty
Onboarding: How to create a successful onboarding and mentoring for first-year students - presented by EEMCS faculty
Session part 2: Network, link & Drinks
In this part of the session we will give you the opportunity to connect with colleagues across campus and share initiatives you are working on. We will use a pinboard where you can post messages to find information and collaborations as well as a color coded systems to easily find people with similar interests to connect to.
Target Audience
This event is open to anyone at TU Delft who is interested in these topics and/or inclusive education in general. While it is especially relevant for those involved in teaching, we warmly welcome students, support staff, and all others who would like to join and contribute.
Background
A hands-on masterclass on Inclusive Education in January 2025 revealed that many valuable initiatives are already happening at the university. Participants expressed a need to better understand these efforts and exchange experiences. In May 2025, we held a follow-up meeting to gather insights into current initiatives and participants’ wishes. Based on these outcomes, we will organize events that help educators connect, share experiences, and learn from each other. Our goal is to provide an overview of relevant initiatives and build a network that supports easy sharing, collaboration, and inspiration.
In 2026 we organised a session on Mentorship (January) and a session on Conflict in student groups (March).
Please join us and your fellow colleagues! And register via the button above.
