To register for the LOT Summer School 2026, please complete and submit this registration form.

Before filling in the form, please note the following.

General information

  • Please read the general information on this page before registering.
  • The LOT Summer School offers intermediate and advanced courses. Intermediate courses are for participants who have previously taken a course on the topic. Advanced courses are intended for participants who have, typically, previously written a paper on the topic or are engaged in related research.
  • You are advised to take no more than two courses per week.
  • To obtain 1 EC for a course, you must attend all five sessions in person. If you become ill during the school, please inform LOT as soon as possible so that an alternative assignment can be arranged.
  • Participants from outside the Netherlands/Flanders may either attend on campus (only if they are PhD candidates or academic staff) or follow the course online in a passive, “fly-on-the-wall” mode for a reduced fee. Please note that online participation does not lead to any credits, and this option is not available to LOT members.

 

Are you enrolled in a Research Master's (RMA) programme at a Humanities Faculty in The Netherlands?

  • RM students can only participate in the LOT school if they are registered with LOT or with one of the other LOGOS research schools. 

  • You do not have to pay any tuition fees for the LOT summer school.

  • You are advised to take no more than two courses per week.
  • It is not possible for you to join courses online.

 

Are you obtaining your PhD at a Humanities Faculties in The Netherlands?

  • If you are doing a PhD in The Netherlands and you are registered with LOT (or one of the other LOGOS research schools), you do not have to pay any tuition fees to register for the summer school. Unsure whether this applies to you? Please contact LOT via lot@uva.nl
  • It is not possible for you to join courses online.

 

Are you obtaining your PhD or MA degree at one of LOT's Belgian partner institutes?

  • If you are doing a PhD at one of the Linguistics Departments from the LOT partner institutes in Belgium (VUB, UAntwerpen, Ghent University, KU Leuven/Louvain), you must pay a 60 euro tuition fee per course.
  • It is not possible for you to join courses online.

 

Are you a postdoc/Lecturer/Assistant/Associate/full Professor, either affiliated with a LOT insitute or not?

Or are you obtaining your PhD at an institute that is not affiliated with LOT?

  • You are welcome to join the LOT Summer School, either on campus or online. Due to the course load, you are advised to sign up for no more than two courses per week.
  • Joining a course on campus costs 150 euros. This gives you access to the full extracurricular (social) programme, and gives you a 1-EC certificate after the end of the course (if you attended all five sessions of a course). 
  • Joining a course online costs 50 euros per course. This gives you access to the livestream for all five sessions of the course in a fly-on-the-wall mode and is meant for passively listening in. It is not possible to interact with the group discussions or with the lecturer. You will not receive a 1-EC certificate, but you will receive a statement of enrolment.

 

Do none of the above categories apply to you (e.g. you are a BA or MA student from outside The Netherlands/Flanders, or a professional in the industry interested in our programme)?

  • You may join a course online.
  • Joining a course online costs 50 euros per course. This gives you access to the livestream for all five sessions of the course in a fly-on-the-wall mode and is meant for passively listening in. It is not possible to interact with the group discussions or with the lecturer. You will not receive a 1-EC certificate, but you will receive a statement of enrolment.
