Let's talk... about the Influence of (Social) Media on our Views on Masculinity and Femininity
MON 18 MAY, 20:00
Aula, Minderbroedersberg 4-6
Join us for a thought-provoking event where we will dive into our views on masculinity and femininity and how it is influenced by (social) media.
Experts will share their insights in an open atmosphere, that will question and discuss whether, and if so how, our behavior is partly determined by what we see and hear online when looking at gender roles and norms. Learn about incel, tradwives and the manosphere. When does this lead to excesses and possible violence? What role do influencer play? What is the effect on society as a whole? Who is responsible, the individual, the tech companies or politics? How can we built up resilience against stereotypical or biased sexual messages in the media?
LET’S TALK is a programme in which we not only give the floor to experts, but also challenge the audience to speak up and interact. So join us.
