Nana Benz Sorority x Omnium: The Taste of Us

Much people in the Netherlands have seen wax print fabric. Few know that it was made by early Dutch Industrialist with the intention to imitate the Indonesia Batik— and that it was sub-Saharan  African women who turned it into one of the most powerful cultural symbols in Africa. On 12 May, we are screening Nana Benz — a documentary about the Togolese traders who took Dutch-manufactured fabric and made it entirely their own. Come watch, eat, talk, and engage with classic Nana Benz wax print designs after. Let’s watch one of the many intersections of our history, to its feedback in societies today
