Biomimicry for Climateproof Cities
Nature has been solving design challenges for 3.8 billion years. Learn how biomimicry , emulating nature’s genius , can unlock the secrets to designing cities and buildings that work with our climate.
What if we started looking at nature as a mentor? Biomimicry does exactly that: it takes nature as a model and, through its lens, can helps us design smarter, more sustainable buildings and cities.
During this 1.5-hour session, architect Jasmina Campochiaro from the Faculty of Architecture at TU Delft will reveal how natural systems achieve incredible energy efficiency and climate resilience. Then, you’ll roll up your sleeves and work in small groups on your own design challenge: creating buildings and cities that work with nature.
This session is open to TU Delft students, staff and researchers, as well as anyone from the wider Delft community — designers, architects, sustainability enthusiasts, curious residents, and everyone in between. All are welcome!
