In Maastricht, many people live side by side without ever becoming familiar to each other. A Taste of Us changes that over one evening.

It is a house-made card game about perspectives, designed by the Nana Benz Sorority, an international sisterhood inspired by the Togolese women traders who turned Dutch wax fabric into a medium of speech across West Africa.

Each player receives a perspective and discusses the same scenario from that starting point, while one or two players secretly hold a different one. The group tries to find them. The point is not to win. It is the moment you realize that someone sees things differently because of where they stand, not because they are wrong.

You also experience how the sorority thinks. We use the body as our analogy: the head sister sets direction, the neck sister carries it into reality, and neither works without the other.

Then we eat together, because belonging is practiced, not just declared.

Open to everyone, no experience needed. We are cooking the main dish. Bring a drink or something sweet to share. Donations are welcome.
