Van 12 t/m 23 januari 2026 organiseert ESA weer de jaarlijkse BZ-Strategiedagen. Overkoepelend thema in 2026 zal zijn ‘‘Catching the Wave’’.

Geopolitieke machtsstrijd, conflicten, handelsspanningen en andere crises raken Europa en Nederland. Nieuwe partnerschappen opbouwen en bestaande versterken is belangrijker dan ooit. Bij deze Strategiedagen onderzoeken we onze positie in de veranderende wereldorde, om het buitenlandbeleid en de diplomatie effectiever te maken. Externe sprekers helpen ons reflecteren en anticiperen op de golven en hun verloop, en kansen identificeren, te bezien hoe we “de golf kunnen pakken” en erop te varen, als professionele surfers.

From 12 to 23 January 2026, ESA will hold the annual Strategy Days. The theme will be Catching the Wave.

Geopolitical powerplay, conflicts, trade tensions and other crises are affecting Europe and the Netherlands. Building new partnerships and strengthening long-standing ones are more important than ever. At this time of increasing uncertainty, we need to pause and reflect on our position in the changing world order, to make Dutch foreign policy and diplomacy more effective. Invited speakers will help us reflect and anticipate the waves, to see where they will likely take us, as well as how we can identify options for ‘catching the wave’ and riding it, like professional surfers.
