WORKSHOPS

GETTING TO KNOW A SPECIFIC WORK FIELD

Workshop 1: Advanced use of LinkedIn.
Provided by Inge Duyx | Alumni Office, UM

Maybe it is not the first thing that pops up in your mind when thinking about the first steps in your career. However, it should be. LinkedIn is the largest professional platform and is used for building strong networks, finding investors and hiring new talents. Job recruiters and managers are on LinkedIn and they will use it to check your profile. In this workshop, you will learn how to create a strong LinkedIn profile and how you can use it for your own professional growth.

Workshop 2: Working as a Public Health Consultant in Development Cooperation: A Hands-On Workshop.
Provided by Elisabeth Rechberg and Lina Brandt | GFA Consulting Group GmbH

Are you ready to dive into the world of public health consulting? This hands-on workshop will give you a taste of what it's like to work as a public health consultant, and provide you with a practical real life exercise related to preparing a proposal for a project tendered by one of our donor agencies. As one of Europe’s leading consulting firms in the field of development cooperation, GFA Consulting Group is implementing projects and complex studies worldwide since 1982. Leading development agencies, ministries and public health clients have entrusted GFA with helping them to manage projects financed through bilateral and multilateral funds. This is a chance to gain valuable insight into one potential future career path in public health consulting.

Workshop 3: Trying out consulting with pharmaceutical companies.
Provided by Edward Atkinson-Clark and Frederik Welding | Veeva

Would you like to work in a consulting position, but are not quite sure what a project may look like? Do you have questions about the kind of tasks this may look like, and how to get into the field? In this workshop, we will have a go at an example of what a commercial project with a pharmaceutical company could look like. It is based on a real life example, and will give you the chance to understand some of the approaches and thinking which goes into these. There will be plenty of time to also ask questions of some current consultants, in areas such as their background, interview processes, and entry opportunities.

We will show you how the municipality of Groningen looks at health, how it intends to organise it, and how we, throughout our work, put policy into practice.
