On 9 June, we warmly invite you to Vakwerkhuis in Delft for the third edition of the Finance Solutions for a Resilient Delta Expert Meeting, where more than 100 leading scientists, policymakers and practitioners will gather for a day of inspiration, collaboration, and networking.

What to expect:

  • Inspiring and agenda-setting keynote talks on climate adaptation finance

  • Cross-sector duo discussions on managing risks and responsibilities in our delta

  • Hands-on afternoon workshops on systems thinking and integrated solutions

  • And, of course, time to connect during lunch and a closing ‘Garden Borrel’

This year, our theme is “Bringing it Home” - we will focus on a simple yet urgent question: how can we mobilise finance to ensure safe, affordable, and future-adaptive housing in our delta?

Climate risks are increasingly affecting daily life in the Netherlands. Extreme rainfall, intense heat, and subsiding soils are creating new challenges for residents and cities alike. Addressing these risks requires smart combinations of public and private finance while keeping housing safe, affordable, and accessible for everyone. Continued investment in flood safety shows that long-term financial commitment can make a real difference by protecting homes and neighbourhoods.

Over the past four years, the Resilient Delta initiative has brought together scientists and societal partners to explore these challenges from different perspectives. In close collaboration, we’ve clarified perspectives on financial action for homeowners and public–private partners working on climate adaptation. Together, these efforts have helped strengthen the national discussion on housing, climate risk, and finance. Now is the moment to bring this knowledge home — to reflect on what we have learned and accelerate action.

In the morning, you can expect inspiring keynotes and interview-style duo dialogues, offering insights from both science and practice. In the afternoon, you will be invited to roll up your sleeves in interactive workshops, where you will apply these ideas to concrete, housing-related cases from our urban delta.
